The team - called The Donderers - took first prize after tallying up 483,324 steps. Congratulations to Edwina McCullagh, Bill Roach, Lynn Henderson and Steven Nelson who were presented with the Challenge Shield by Graham Hope, Chief Executive.
The council's Steps in Work Challenge Shield is presented twice a year for the team that completes the most amount of steps during health week.
This year was the most popular yet, with 38 teams from across all council services taking part. The runners up team from Social Policy were called 'Too much banter to canter' who walked 403,861 steps.
Chris Keenan, Lead Officer for the Healthy Working Lives Group said: "The summer challenge this year was been an outstanding event with a massive 7.1 million steps recorded.
"The healthy working lives team would like to thank everyone who took part. Judging by the number of emails and steps, the teams pushed themselves and enjoyed the event."
The Challenge will run again during the council's Winter Health Week from the 5 to 9 November. More information will be available on Inside News.
